Final 2F Party 4/21/01
Farmington, CT
It kind of sounds like the apartment doesn't exist anymore. It is not that the apartment doesn't exist, it is just that it exists in a completely different form. A brief history of 2F is probably necessary for those people who have never been, or have never dared enter the inner sanctum of the bachelor pad known as just, 2F.
2F was first rented from Louisa about 4 years ago. She rented to a group of nice young boys. The original group of people were together since renting a place on Farm Drive. The original cast of characters were Jeff Mammen, Michael Mix, and Eric Gramm. Eric Gramm was the first one to leave after buying a condominium. This left Jeff, and Michael to try and find a new roommate. After interviewing a few people for the position, (most of them were "dorks" by Jeff's reckoning), along came Chris Puchkoris. Chris cemented his position at 2F by saying that he brought over a six pack, but there were only four left. Jeff looked at Michael, Michael looked at Jeff, and they immediately asked when he could move in.
Eventually, Michael decided to marry Jean (shake your fists wildly every time you say her name), and had to abandon his bachelor ways, and the place called 2F. Luckily I was getting kicked out of my apartment, so I decided to fill in the emptying position. Michael was a tough act to follow, but luckily every time Jean was out of town, he would stop over and we would have a 2F reunion.
Farm Drive, and 2F were known for their parties. The original party was Club Osculator. With the laser show, the thumping base of the drum machines, and non-stop disco ball, the parties were always a blast. Some of the notable parties included the 2000 new years eve party, the creation of the Teets of Bacchus, and Alithea's famous hot sauce chugging contest. There are many others that I can't remember. Since 2F was going to be domesticated, we decided to have one last party. Here's a shot of Chris, Scott, and roommate Chris ragin' it up.
Let's show you the cast of characters that attended the party. The interesting part was that the people became even more characters as the party went on. In the first picture, Bob and Christine are relaxing on the couch. Next is Chris and Jody Soloperto. Next is Dan, Jeff's cousin. The next picture is Dan's wife (sorry, I don't remember her name), Jamie and Joy. Jean (remember to shake your fists), and Joe are next. In the background you can see Jeff. The next picture is of Jeff. (This is not roommate Jeff). Next picture is of Michael, Kimberly, and Chris. Finally there's a picture of Scott and Chrissy. I know that there are a lot of Jeffs and Chris' mixed in here, but, well, that's just the way it is.
As the party kept going, it fell, as normal, into a dance fest. (These are not those pretty sort of dance fests that you see on TV, but more like white guys attending Polly Estas dance fests.) As the night grew longer, the dancing grew worse, and the music, well, it never really stepped above Abba. Here's some embarrassing photos of dance floor happening. The second picture has Jenn and Jean (you remember what you need to do). The last picture is Kimberly, Kris (yes Kris was dancing it up on the dance floor), and Jody.
For some reason people thought this was a going away party for Ellen and myself. (Thanks, Kris). We got some good gifts to help us on our way. We got from gorp, to dried foods, to quarters for paying for laundry and showers, to candles to make the tent smell, well, better than a wet dog, like it currently smells. I will leave you with one truly scary picture. I call this Mr. Jeremy, and Rockin' Chris. I think that's 'nuff said.
